Rosa Parks is known as the mother of the Civil Rights movement. She is best known for refusing to give up her seat on a bus after a long day at work, which then sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. After a year of the boycott, the Supreme Court decided that segregation laws on the bus were unconstitutional. Rosa continued to attend civil rights meetings. She became a symbol to many African-Americans of the fight for equal rights. In 1996, Rosa was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Learn more about Rosa Parks in this monthly patch!

PLEASE NOTE:  Patches are ordered after registration has commenced.  Once ordered, it takes around a month for the council to receive the patches.  At that time, the council then ships the patches to the address used when ordering.

All grade levels.
