Brush up on your outdoor skills and develop new ones so you're prepared to take on any outdoor challenge! We'll practice working with maps and compasses, tying knots, and setting up shelters. You'll learn how to plan a real outdoor adventure, working with your fellow campers to plan routes, meals, and packing lists. We'll even try our hands at making some of our own outdoor gear. We'll also connect with nature as we increase our awareness of natural surroundings by learning about the plants and animals we share the outdoors with! We'll also get to take a virtual visit to the Tapawingo barn, and learn how horses can be part of an epic outdoor adventure!
As part of the supply box, seniors and ambassadors will receive a pocket knife. Knife safety will be taught the first day. However, knives are potentially dangerous if not used correctly. Parents should be aware and ensure that their camper is using the knife properly.
